As far as investment by foreigners is concerned India has already attained 'junk' status. We do not need any external rating agency to tell us that we have fared poorly in recent times. It is in evidence all over. Constant & heavy price hikes,rampant corruption & the state of being 'rudderless'- are these things new to us ? No. We know we are bad. The only problem is are we going to end up being so ?

Mamta is openly playing her cards in the presidential election. Her persistence is marvelous .She should be taken as an example by every public representative in that she never lets the good of her party be belittled by either the gravity or the volume of the issue on hand. 

Mehdi Hasan had that unique quality to his voice that enthralled the listener.

Pranab Dada can handle the dual responsibility of the FM & President of the country. Obviously the president is a rubber-stamp authority. No work to do. Lazying around in the lavish gardens of the palatial residence. That is the only & most important work every president has to do. So Pranabda will get ample time to devote to the duties of a FM should he decide to be both...

Prospects for a Ram-Lakshman type duo to come to fore in the BJP are very weak. Facts indicate otherwise. A devil-duo might occupy the center stage. Gadkari & Modi will always be at loggerheads. The current face of BJP could be the worst in recent history. The main characteristic of the party that sets it apart from others is discipline. And that has come to be seen as the one lacking factor afflicting the party of late.  

Put a common man in the throne of President of India. At least he will get a chance to see the world,live lavishly and that too at the cost of hardly any work worth the name. Just some foreign dignitaries to be received & engaged in boring,useless conversation ! All in all if a commoner gets to climb into the post he will gain more than some heavy-weight politician who already has tasted quite a few pleasures of power himself.

If Anna Hazare is surrounded by 'anti-national' elements as is alleged by the Congress,meaning thereby that Anna is good but not the people around him then the same logic applies to Manmohan Singh as well. He is honest but those under & above him are not. If only Manmohan could have mustered enough courage to temper the hyper-charisma of Sonia Gandhi our nation would have seen better days. It is only because of Sonia Gandhi & the corrupt horde of politicians she keeps in the Congress that the common man of the country has been reduced to a non-entity.

We are eagerly holding ourselves down until the release of "Heroine". After the release we will throw up. Our hats in praise of course !!

Joshi quitting BJP should not be a matter of worry. He is not untainted. He has had some dirty scandals pursuing him since 2005. He definitely overstepped his limits when he crossed egos with Modi. Modi is a far superior leader to a seasoned party campaigner like Joshi. In fact,Modi is being projected as the future PM. In that background Joshi should have withdrawn into a secondary position long ago. His resignation is welcome.

It is amazing how so many people have come out openly in support of Jagan Reddy. I have not done any financial misfeasance but I certainly doubt my dearest ones will sit in protest against my arrest should I be tempted to commit such misdeed. !!!

Chidambaram is a rowdy minister who assiduously camouflages his wiles under sophistication.Others who act against law & are caught at it do not attempt to cover it up so minutely as Mr Chidambaram does.The new election matter against him will be handled in a likely tricky fashion by him. No doubt. When will this arrogant person begin to recognize that 'Law is supreme in this country ?' and there is something called 'owning it up' ?.
But it is futile to expect fair play of the person who did not give way to shame in the entire 2G matter while actually he should have resigned from public life in the first place.

US says it will continue the Drone attacks inside Pak. How strange. We Indians who have long suffered in silence while Pak physically & actually indulged in acts of terrorism in our country can just look on with fascination while America does everything to avenge the wrongs. 

It is a welcome judgement by the Supreme Court which opens the gates for a just conclusion of the Aarushi murder case. The truth has been withheld from being caught by the regular clutches of law since long. It is high time the parents of the deceased came out with the truth & only the truth.

Really , why should Salman pay more for his new accommodation ? Is it a case of black money being turned into white ? It is not against law to purchase property. But the source of income must be legit. Has Salman paid revenue dues on the amount that he first earned & later paid to buy the place ?

Superstition followed by the rich is beyond reproach. Or so it seems after observing the bland response the media gives it. The filth the rich have accumulated over the years has started to stink but our media turns a convenient Nelson's eye to it. Why ?

Ramdev's campaign is more attractive than Hazare's. It is ok. Any way the target is to bring down the Congress. Baba or Anna ,the name or person doesn't matter. What matters is the downfall of the worst political party the country has ever been ruled by.

Pawar has proved again the cunning politician that he is. His hugging Ramdev has punctured Anna Hazare's campaign against corruption in which Pawar's name figures prominently.

 

There were a lot of empty seats in the stadium at yesterday's IPL fixture. What this indicates is that cricket frenzy in the country is on the wane. A good sign indeed. Soon there will come a time when we will give scant attention to cricket . That will be beginning of maturity era for us. Pray to God it happens sooner than later. What say ?

Sachin should be given a special grant of calculation by which all the scores by him in the Asia Cup shall be added up to form a century. That seems to be the only way open to the legend to finish up the ultimate record of century of centuries that has been eluding him since,now it has started to feel,like ages.

Come summer we in Maharashtra,India start feeling the pangs of cuts in our electricity supply. How long this draconian condition will continue,we do not know. Each successive government has made promises to repair the situation but to no effect in fact. We pride ourselves on being one of the progressive states in the country.But when it is proved time & again to the contrary we must do some serious thinking indeed.

FaceBook is supposedly a net working site but what makes up networking seems to differ from person to person. "Have u had coffee or your brunch" to "The social dilemma posed by corruption" are just two extreme examples of topics of interest discussed on FB. And then there is that age-old question "Do we really need social networking".How many real friends does one have on FB. Thousands that one carries under "Friends" are either artificially drawn or though made with mutual consent between real life friends do not give the charm one gets from what is popularly known as "real friendship". And then there is that funny thing - Status Updates. "I cleaned my house today"-one wrote and received 75 likes and 32 comments. See the fun.Or rather you have to be on FB to experience it.Are we so isolated in real life so that we feel it compulsory to get into the practice of sharing the tiniest bits of our life on the net,with total strangers who have nothing to do with what the hell you do or who the hell you are really ?The popularity of FB is an indicator of the new low our emotional status has touched. Really.
